Baljinder Hayre,
Optician, AOK Co-ordinator
Baljinder
was born in Punjab, India. She moved to Vancouver with her family when
she was 10 years old. Growing up in Canada, Baljinder played highschool
basketball and volleyball - hence her nickname around the office 'Ballywall'.
While attending Vancouver
Technical Highschool, Baljinder volunteered at local Senior's centres.
She went on to complete her MOA (Medical Office Assistant) certification
at Vancouver Community
College in 1997. Her first posting was in a busy family medical practice.
Dr. Simpson welcomed her into the family here at Mount Pleasant in 1998.
For several years
Baljinder trained under our expert Optician, Mr. Bob Butler, and she now
is capable of running the optical dispensary on her own. Of course, Baljinder
is best known for co-ordinating our AOK program; if you undergo this procedure,
you will get to know her well. She herself, is a very successful AOK patient
- her myopia of nearly 4.00 Dioptres has been completely eliminated over
the last few months.
Baljinder speaks Punjabi,
Hindi, English, and a little Spanish that she recently learned while attending
the Optimum International Optical conference in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico.
